The boy once more stared death in the eye as the car screeched to a halt and honked its horn at him. And once more death fled as the car stopped and the boy walked to “safety”. He could hear the driver cursing him out over the music coming from his broken headphones as well as the people talking about him from under his hood. He kept walking towards home. Clean memory Connor turned away from his former best friend. He had seen the fights before and didn't need to see Wyatt's head get ripped off and skewered on a stake at the edge of the ring. It didn't matter. Wyatt was already dead, many times over. Connor had seen to that. The first death was when Wyatt was forced to kill Erris the woman he loved. The second death came when Connor maliciously told him of Erris's lie. She wasn't pregnant. She never was. She had been using him. The third death came when Connor pulled the trigger of his gun. Ending Wyatt's physical life with a bullet through the neck.
